Nephrurus amyae’s neo - February 14th, 2010
On February 14th, 2010, a day of double celebration of Valentine and Chinese New Year 2010, The Gecko Shop (TGS) just made history in the Malaysian herpetoculture by being the first in the country to successfully hatched another species from the genus of Nephrurus known as the Nephrurus amyae. With such feat, TGS has successfully keep, breed and hatch all three Nephrurus sp. in captivity, under artificial environment in our very own Malaysian soil. I believe that this is the FIRST locally hatched N. amyae in Malaysia (like such news is even shocking anymore LOL!). And it was locally cared and bred by a Malaysian.
MALAYSIA BOLEH!
It’s the year of the Tiger. Hence, I welcome you to view Tiger (the name I coined the bugger) in all its glory by clicking on the images provided above.

Nephrurus levis levis' neo - December 25th, 2009
On December 25th, 2009 at approximately 2315 hours, The Gecko Shop (TGS) successfully hatched another species from the genus of Nephrurus known as the Nephrurus levis levis. Unlike the first levis hatchling that hatched below the period of 50 days and dropped dead shortly after, this little bugger hatched at exactly 70 days. And by the looks of it, this guy (just like its father) is a hypo, thus confirming that the morph in my bloodline is a non-recessive one. And unless somebody stepped up with a hard proof to point otherwise, I believe that this is the FIRST locally hatched N. levis levis in Malaysia.
I’m going to call it “Xmas” ..HO..HO..HO! :)

N.wheeleri cinctus' neos - December 4th, 2009
On December 3rd, 2009 at approximately 2200 hours, The Gecko Shop (TGS) hatched the first two eggs from the genus of Nephrurus sp. known as the Nephrurus wheeleri cinctus. Despite all of the available information in publications and world wide web, the ones in TGS hatched at exactly 61 days, differing from the reported norm of 75 to 85 days of incubation period. Fortunately, their sex, unlike Eublepharid sp., is genetically determined. I believe that these are the FIRST locally hatched knob-tails in Malaysia. Therefore, I feel blessed with the achievement. This is an early Christmas present. And it feels great indeed.
Thanks Santa! :)
