The Rough Knob-Tailed gecko (Nephrurus amyae), or famously known as "Amyae", is the largest gecko in the Nephrurus sp. As with all Nephrurus sp. being endemic to Australia, Nephrurus amyae is found primarily in the central portion of the country. They generally have a brown to reddish color, covered in spiny rossettes giving their skin a rough appearance and feel, complemented with a small tail with a knob on the end. They look interestingly weird, like an alien. They occur in the center of Australia within the state of Northern Territory. They inhabit areas of hard red/brown soils within rocky ranges and outcrops. They are a large, robust gecko that will eat just about anything that fits into their mouth. This impressive gecko is a must-have for any true gecko enthusiasts. We are jubilated to be working with some of these "extra-terrastrial" creatures. Our collection consists of normals as well as hypo morph from superb bloodlines. Please take your time to browse our available Rough Knob-Tailed geckos for sale.
